1978 Hamer Sunburst

Low Serial Number: 8 0316

I'm still thinning the herd, and another nice vintage guitar is headed out the door!

I'm posting this here first to give HFC folks first shot for a short time.

Here's a chance to get a very early bound and crowned Sunburst

at a very nice price.

The guitar is in exactly the condition it was when I bought it about 5 years ago.

Excellent condition as the pics show, not a museum piece, but very low wear for a guitar approaching it's 30th birthday.

I've taken lots of pics to show the details and the flame from different angles.

I've noted a very few items of interest inline below with the pics.

Price:

$1100, plus $40 shipping for 2nd day DHL Air.

Many buyers that get a shipment from me tell me it's the finest gear packing job they've ever received (see my Ebay feedback, user ID: amptrader). I can't guarantee DHL won't ever damage the gear I sell, but they haven't done it yet, and I can assure you it won't be because of a poor packing job.

Payment Terms:

Paypal ok, I'll split the 2.9% fee with the buyer

USPS Money Order, sent via overnight letter/FedEx/etc, and I'll pay the overnight fee.

International buyers: Western Union

No exceptions, I only have these terms to insure the guitar is sold, as it will move to Ebay quickly if no sale on the forums.

Thanks!!

Note the pickup ring is cracked on the lower long side.

This should be easy to glue, as it still fits together perfectly.

Note that while the pickups appear to be double blacks,

it is very apparent that they are a zebra neck and a

double white bridge that have been stained or colored black.

As such, I have no reason to believe they are not the

original pickups (no, I haven't pulled them, but I

can't believe someone would mount replacement pickups

and then do that, and no, I don't know who did it,

or why they would do it).

;)

I don't know if the pickup rings are original, but as the pics

show, they do fit the top profile correctly.

I've never had any Hamer experts look at it

to verify any of these issues.

If someone wanted to restore the pickups,

it's apparent the black stain/color is wearing off so

I would assume the rest of it will come off, too.

I can use a guitar case for an early sunburst... any interest in keeping the guitar and selling the case?

If no one here bites, it's only 910 Euros :-)

Hope you find a good home for 80316.

Like most folks, I'd keep 'em all if I could (as I'm sure most folks would)!

;)

But right now single coils are getting most of my attention, so most of my humbucker guitars have been sold, and this is one of the last to go. This Sunburst was especially hard to decide to sell, as I searched for a long time to find an early one in good condition.

But it will definitely be sold, and find an owner that will give it much more attention that I'm giving it now!

Good luck in your search for a case, and you're right, the price sounds even better in Euros!!

That price is a BARGAIN. What a cool guitar.

Someone pick it up and give it a nice home, please!

I'd buy it myself if I was not on the other side

of the good damn pond.
