What pickup?

duncans

Question

Posted

I've got a maple body strat style guitar that needs pickups. A humbucker plus two single coils.

It has a Kahler trem as well. What humbucker would sound good in there. I will add that as of right now I do plan on selling this guitar so I don't want to sink a bunch of money into it.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Duncan Custom Custom for the bucker and alnico II single if you want to go all Duncan.

Duncan PATB1 in the bridge, but really, you're looking to sell it, so I wouldn's sweat it. Get any cheap used high-output Duncan trembucker for the bridge (translation, a "JB") and whatever duncan singles are cheap used for the neck and middle (ie, SSL1's). IMO.

Not to derail your thread, but I've been looking for a maple body for a project I'm planning. I'm finding it difficult to find a solid maple body. Where did you get the body, or what is it from? Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.

The guitar came from Charvel when they were a parts company, just starting to do assembled units. I purchased body and neck in 1982. Quilt maple body and maple neck with rosewood board 1 3/4" wide 16'" radius. Body has morphed from the hardtail bridge to a Kahler trem in the mid 80s' when trems were HOT. I'm probably looking for some semi-serious cash for body and neck(whole assembled guitar) unless someone wants it as is without pickups. Anyone is free to PM me if theyed like.
