what will the longterm impact of Dantzig's departure from Hamer be

I've been equally if not more phickle and inconsistant as a customer, than Hamer has as a source. My only frustration now is that as a quasi-adult with real responsibilities, I can no longer afford to play in the custom order world the way I used to years ago. But when asked, Hamer is and will likely always be my number one, Joel or no Joel. No other guitar brings the goosebumps the same way for me.

That says it much better than I've said it, all BS aside.

That's been a pretty nice discussion so far. Looking at the current model list, I'd say it spawns a large range of musical genres that's hard to be extended. The building quality had been improved over the nineties so that we agreed here in the forum that it is the best building quality Hamer ever had. To that extend even better than the 4-digits at their time. Hamer received many awards for its models introduced since Jol came back in. Whatever had been the true reason for Jol leaving if there had been only one, there is a potential that his job was actually done.

It'll be interesting to see if the Talladegas can build on their already achieved vibe in the future in the same way the 80s models had built up vibe until today.

To me it looks quite obvious that Hamer opened the workshop for vintage style orders at the moment. Since they had stopped building stock guitars for a while they would have to load up on custom orders to pay the builders in current market conditions.

David B was right to take the step into custom orders at this time. It looks, from his comments, that even special orders seem to be achievable at the moment. Didn't we always argue that the list prices where made in heaven?
