Hamer Tortoise Pickguard Material

Does anyone know where Hamer sources their W/B/T tortoise pickguard material? I've got an old beat up "V" project that I'm thinking I'd like to take into the shop to see how close I can duplicate the look of Tom Dumont's Vector.

I've looked at several websites (Stew-Mac, Warmoth, Axiom, Grizzly) where I've seen folks in other forums say they got theirs, but the samples shown either come up short in appearance, or it's single ply.

Nothing pre-fab will work since the "V" I'm working with is routed for P-90's and my intent is to keep it that way.

I know there are custom makers such as pickguardian/terrapin/pickguard heaven, but I think I could save a few dollars if I can find the correct raw material.

Actually, Pickguardian is so cheap, and the quality is so good that you'd probably come out equal or maybe even ahead if you just ordered something from them. Can't speak for the other guys, but that's been my experience.

Shoot him an email, usually he wants you to send him the stock one you already have so he can duplicate the shape exactly, but one time I wanted one for a guitar that didn't have a pickguard at all and he had a stencil for it.

I emailed Tony and got a quote. I'm not sure I'd classify it as anything near the cheap or inexpensive end, but it does sound like he's got the material I'm looking for so I'll probably go that route. Hopefully in the end I can chalk it up as a "get what you paid for" experience.
