Computer download question

I need to download the AC3 Audio codec. Is it safe to download this from the internet? Anyone have

a good, safe place to download them?

Thanks Zenmindbeginner. I tried Sourceforge and some other stuff. All I could get was the audio to

work but couldn't see anything. Awhile back my computer automatically downloaded a corrupt Mcafee

update and my computer has been jacked up ever since. A friend at work who is a computer whiz

is going to hopefully get everything back on track. Mcafee was absolutely no help. I no longer use Mcafee.

FWIW, if I needed AV software, I would use either Kaspersky:

or Clam Win:

Running day-to-day in a non-Admin account will solve 90% of the problems out there.

PS... I made up the 90% figure, but it's a lot.

Thanks SpecialK. Right now I have Norton and it seems to be doing okay for us. When the subscription

runs out I'll look into those.

Have you tried VLC player? It will play most anything.
