atquinn Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Yeah, yeah, I know they'll all crap out eventually, but what's the best one I can get that will fit in a Studio/other Hamer carved-top (ie, decent taper, won't crap out too fast)?-Austin
Jem Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 CGE are the best i've used, should be readily available your side of the pond.Edited to say: CGE were the only one's in WD's stock that didn't feel like they were going to fall apart before i'd even mounted them.

I've never had one fall apart, but I find the tapers pretty awful. Let me know if you find something decent.
murkat Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I have some full shaft size(1/2") Alpha's that do the wear and tear thing very well, good taper as well.http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/C...For-Guitar.html

Try Yamaha. Don't know if they sell parts, though.
anotherfreak Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 I have some gibson packaged ones, I can't remember the actual make, but they are solid.
atquinn Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 Thanks guys. Looks like I could get the CGE's from eBay, but I'm going to look into the other ones as well.-Austin
