Are these really Sprague Orange Drops?

I'm the "winner" of this auction. The caps that arrived don't look like any Sprague caps I've seen before, but maybe I'm just too new at this. The caps are a pinkish orange, not a reddish orange. The plastic extends for about 1mm onto the legs, which are less than 1cm long. And the caps have text on the top (not on the sides) that reads "22nK400VL". Are these really 0.022uF Sprague Orange Drops?

The term 'orange drops' is a generic term....the composition can actually be one of several things, most commonly polyester or polypropolene. Yeah, you have 'orange drops'....without seeing codes I would guess they are of the polyester variety.

I understand that, but is "Sprague" a generic term these days?

"is "Sprague" a generic term these days"

No, just a manufacturer, or name for.

Example

There are a lot of CTS pots out there...

and some outlets go as far as putting there own name on them,

Does that make them better?

depends on the spec of tolerance, etc. of manufacturing, etc.
