Sunburst Studio in whale blue

Montelovesco

Question

Posted

Hi, this is for the historians...

I purchased a blue sunburst studio on ebay germany a few weeks a go. Wonderful sounding guitar, very resonant and versatile.

Seller says, its a limited edition, and the guitar came with an OHSC in blue. Serial begins with 231. I remember seeing an ad with that guitar and a marshall amp, also in blue. Does anybody in the HFC know more?

Thank you and best wishes from northern Bavaria.

Archtop Limited Blue - made 1992 specifically for the German market. I only have a poor scan of the ad. but can confirm gold pickup surrounds, double black pickups and a blue case were part of the deal. Sadly, even though you speak German the words aren't clear enough to read. But it does say made in 'Sweet Home Chicago'! And possibly that it is pictured with a blue Marshall Limited Edition combo in the 'Hamer Custom Shops'.

One of many limited runs in the 90s made for Germany, Japan and the UK.

Yep. That is correct.

A few of those blue cases either never made it over there or were separated from their occupants.

The guitars matched the Marshall 30th Anniversary Limited Edition amps.
