Stupid little parts search.....

Anyone know where to get 4 of the pickup mounting screws for the direct-mount setup Hamer used back in the day? They thread into those little brass ferrules. 4-40 x 1" or so?

I have inquired with Kim K but thought I'd have a backup plan in case I am left wanting (4).

Thanks.

You should be able to get those at any good hardware store. The one near my office (True Value I think) has a huge selection.

Tried the biggest one in my 'hood, and nothing in "black" was the rub.

'Spose I could just grab a Sharpie......

I have about hundred of those screws. I went through the same thing to as you to replace the screws in my Centaura and ended up finding a vendor on Ebay that sells them in bulk, which is why I have so many. Anyways, they are the #4-40 black oxide panhead screws and they are 7/8" long. I'm not sure that was the length that the Centaura and Diablo came with but they matched up with the screws I took out and I haven't had problem with them. I sent some to another HFC'r and they worked out for him. Shoot me a PM with your address and I'll send some and anyone else if you need a few.

Hobby shops have them. I think I have a few left if you want them. They also have fuel line that works great for height adjustment instead of using springs over the screws. I guess Fender liked my idea as the last time I bought a set of Texas Specials pre cut pieces of fuel line were included instead of the old cone shaped springs.

R/C model stores also have a very wide variety of screws and fasteners. Back when Kahler parts were a bitch to find I used to get them there. Also good for oddball trem parts like Synclairs (ESP 80's). Fretsonthenet.com likely has some options too.
