Happy New Suzuki V-Strom 1000 day to me!

I've been 8 years without a bike since we moved back east from Colorado and I sold my poor old GS700 to a neighbor at a yard sale.

A year's worth of piggy-banking and a sold guitar or two has paid off and last night my neighbor helped me trailer home a 2002 Vstrom 1000. 41k miles, some rash on the right fairing, but otherwise tip-top for $2500. I got the plates at the town office today and, if the sun shines this weekend, I'll be smiling.

This is what most people will see:

But as I go past them, they might catch these views:

Great price for that bike. Hope you enjoy it and...keep the rubber side down. ;)

That looks fast!

My boys thought it was fast (though I only gave them 1/2 throttle); Enjoy it I will! My wife employed her artistic skills with the camera today and caught the essence of the bike. To me, it's a Hamer with two wheels.

Congrats!

No one who rides should ever be without a bike, much less for 8 years.

Just remember, no more than 2 drinks when you're on 2 wheels!
