BadgerDave Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 Anyone tried the new Mesa Boogie Stiletto? From the reviews I've read, it looks like a Boogie for those of us who don't particularly like the classic scooped high gain MB sound.
Riffmonger Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 Stiletto Sound files Here is a link to some Stiletto sound files. These are the sample settings in the user manual. It "WILL" pull off all of these sounds. Unfortunately, if you can't play it won't hide that fact.
rmahurin Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 Unfortunately, if you can't play it won't hide that fact. I'll have to pass then. I'm holding out for Mesa's Ashley Simpson Signature Series.
sojourner Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 I played it at a local music store. The 100W iteration. Played it through an attenuator at various output levels through a guitar with a Phat Cat neck and a Bill Lawrence 500 bridge.I found the clean and pushed clean settings workable and I particularly liked the pushed clean. The high & higher gain didn't get it done for me. I've read it elsewhere that if you want a new or different level of metal gain, the Stiletto isn't for you, and that seems about right. But if you want clean and pushed clean there are plenty of MB (and other) products that will get it done.
jisham Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 Save some bucks and check out a Peavey JSX instead. It'll do everything a Stiletto can and more IMO.
Brownsound Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 Kind of a fuzzy "trashy" high end there. Bout the same as I experienced in the music store. Ill take my Budda over that any day..and my DSL100 for that matter.
kurtsstuff Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 I'm thinkin real hard on the Peavey JSX....probably pull the trigger tommorow.....ahhh...the anguish and hell of wanting and wanting and wanting and....well....you get the idea...
