2005 Studio Custom

What are the values of the two Studio Custom volume pots on my '05? I have been dialing in

my amps by setting my Hamer's volumes in the 3 to 4 range. Is this what most owners do, or is

it preferable to start with both volumes on 10 and adjust the amp from that point?

For single-channel amps, I find that, for chords: neck 6-8/bridge 10. Leads: bridge on 10.

For channel-switcher amps: channel one, light OD, bridge on 10. Channel two (distortion), bridge on 10.

I really like the taper on Hamer's pots. There are lots of tones to be had, even with the master tone control...My Budda SD18 LOVES the vol/tone controls on my Newport! Jangle to distorto with minimal effort.

That makes sense to me. I really don't know which end of the volume pots provide the greatest selection, but I've been experimenting with neck on 6 or so and bridge on 8+ or so for a medium distortion on neck and bridge for both chords and single notes. I have been used to my Les Paul where I e.q. to the neck pickup with my amps up high and volumes around 2 to 3.

RobB - Newport with Phat Cats or Hums??\

Actually, TVJones Classics in the English-mount rings. It's a "Gretsch-a-Hamer." You can get a real clang-y snarl out of this guitar. Sounds beauty clean, too.

I really should photo my NGD's of the last 2yrs or so. Maybe when I finish the wiring on my V I'll do some archive photos, but...

DUFFMAN: "Duffman will probably blow it off! OOOHYEAH!"
