Ka not a PA guy....been in bands since 1979......never had to worry about PA until now....am struggling.

I cannot get a monitor mix out and I cannot get a rack reverb unit (Alesis) to work with the board.

I have the manual but I need a better explanation. Think PA for Dummies.....

Any help with this board would be GREATLY appreciated!

Even though that's a discontinued product, I would try calling Mackie technical support. They are usually pretty good about talking people through hookup questions, etc.

I'm not a pro but we have a similar board. Monitor mix should work as follow's:

Aux send 1 > TRS cable to input of outboard EQ > output of EQ to input of poweramp > output of power amp to input of monitor. Turn aux send master up, turn up aux send 1 on each channel you want in that mix.

For the reverb unit it depends on how you want to use it. If you want reverb on the entire main mix it looks like you have a "Main Insert" You need an Insert Cable to connect to the send and return of the reverb unit.

If you want to use the reverb on one specific channel you should have inserts for each channel. Connect the unit via an insert cable to the desired channel. You can then control the effects level via aux send 3 or 4...

Use Aux 1 and 2 "Pre-fader" on the channel strips to send signal to your monitor amp, which should be plugged into aux 1 and 2 Out on the back.

Use Aux 3 and/or 4 out on back to Alesis, then back to stereo returns 3 and 4. Assign those to Main Mix.
