You'd probably need computer assistance, something like a CNC or CAD machine...or whatever the equivalent is for doing alterations like this, and use the Mirage I as a model/template for scanning. I sure wouldn't want to try it freehand!:wacko::ph34r:

Edited to add: Once you start, you're gonna have to be happy with the results, unless you don't mind selling it as one of those Ebay 'projects', if you're not. Resale value would go phfft if it isn't done right. It may go phfft even if it IS, 'cause it wouldn't be original.

I won't be trying it at all...but there are some folks with the skills to do this.

If it turns out reasonably close to my Mirage I I'll love it...and I really don't care about the resale value because that one's in the "keeper" pile.

Oh hell, I'll do it for ya. I'll have to charge you $125 an hour, though.

I can't think of any reason why you couldn't. Don't be surprised if it sounds different afterwards though.

I was actually thinking about laser scanning the Mirage I and CNC machining the contour on the Mirage II...but offsets, cutter compensation, etc. scares the living daylights out of me!
