Ralph Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Anyone have any recommendations(youtube wise)? Or dvd's.
killerteddybear Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Sorry, self-taught before VCR tapes were available.I actually read at technique book!
marcnorth Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Seems to be quite a bit here.http://www.talkingbass.net/lessonmap/
Ralph Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 I'm mostly looking for different fingering techniques. And fingering exercises.
velorush Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I really like this guy's technique and attitude. Very informative and just a great teacher: I'd also add: the Technique section of the Talk Bass board has tons of information on it. If only I had more time to devote to all these resources!
killerteddybear Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I'm mostly looking for different fingering techniques. And fingering exercises.Left hand, right hand, or both?
Ethan Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 The aforementioned Scott's Bass Lessons are great, I have found a lot of good columns on notreble.com, and even some stuff from Janek Gwizdala on youtube although he usually is a bit over my head.
Ralph Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 Right handed. Fingering and slapping instead of picking. That just sounds screwed up. Lol....
Ralph Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 I've watched some Sheehan and Wooten stuff. Awesome shit.
velorush Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I picked up the bass about four years ago and I knew the only way I was ever going to make fingerstyle work was to never pick up a pick and a bass at the same time. I cased all my guitars and left only the bass available to play (sans pick) for two solid months. Now playing bass with a pick just feel weird.
