As the title simply states ... my incredible wife surprised me last night with a.) my first-ever new car (had 2 miles on it when she test-drove it), and b.) the modern version of the car I've dreamed of driving since I was around seven or eight years old.

I have never kept up with good car wash solutions, waxes, aluminum wheel cleaners, leather and interior cleaners and conditioners, etc.

Throw some tips at me so I can sustain the unbridled visual badassery this righteous ride possesses.

Color: Billet silver metallic

Interior: Slate gray and bad ass motherfucker red

I think they enjoy the 50/50 split between driving and fixing. Or is it 40/60? Bloody Limeys.

Makes sense, as I think I remember you responding positively to something I once mentioned about an old Triumph "Bonnie".

Well, I grew up on the back of BSAs, Nortons and Ariels. Dad never did have a Triumph, sadly.

Back in the mid-90s, I was selling engineering software to Lucas Varity (or was it Verity?) in the Detroit area as they worked as a tier-one supplier of braking systems. Those guys would bitch and moan about Mopar engine APIs compared with Ford (not that I have a dog in the hunt, I could care less), and how Ford's had so much more flexibility for telling the transmission to change gears or the engine to increase/decrease torque, shut down cylinders, etc.

Pretty cool stuff.

Frightening to think of Lucas electrics in a brake system, though.
