Manilus pickups

DBraz

Question

Posted

Hi experts,

I have these two pickups that were taken off a refin'd '79 Sunburst I bought on here a few years ago. I have carefully stripped this guitar with the plan of bringing it back as close to original spec as I can get it.

These have come off the guitar and are surplus to my requirements as I already have loads of pickups hanging around that I am not using.

I know literally nothing about these so I am keen to get an idea as to their value and I don't mind being respectively HFC friendly with my pricing. Rather than having a load of prices banded about on here if anyone would PM me with an idea as to their worth I'll get an ad up on the FS board a.s.a.p.

Thanks experts!

Take care!

David

I know that Manlius is a town about 5 miles east of here, the PUPs are

handmade and have a good reputation, but I have no personal experience

with them. I'd say they're probably worth around $50 used, maybe a little

I had a Fat Diane in my LP for awhile. Good pickup but brighter than I was looking for at the time. I still have it, so it must have been OK (there must be a reason I kept it - my memory fades.....). He'll wind to taste as well.

Not sure what model you have there, but his humbuckers are around $95 now, so I would think $50-$60 ea./$100 a pair would be in the ballpark used.

See if Johnny Thunders responds to a PM. He had a refinned Sunburst with the Manilus Fat Diane Pickups. I only had a brief encounter with them in a noisy environment, so I couldn't tell you much about them.

It is these pickups. I am restoring it to its former glory and have no need for those pickups. Thank you!
