mucde Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Walking round a local guitar shop I was surprised (Hamers seem like rockinghorse doodoo in Germany) and pleased to see a 1992 Special FM (in '59 Burst) for sale. They were asking for €1000 which is approx $1180 US. I think that's extracting the michael. What would a more realistic price be?TIA.
Smokin Tone Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 I would say $850.00 US in excellent condition tops. That may seem a little high still but if it's a nice one it is worth every penny.
Travis Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I've seen mint Specials from that time period go for as low as $600. I would be very patient if I wanted a price that like for one in that condition, though.
marcnorth Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 $550 shipped is about the most it would sell for around here. Mint!!I've sold 3 specials this year and thats the most I could sell one for.Resale on Hamers sucks ass.
Steve Haynie Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 You may have to pay more in Germany. As I understand it, dealers outside of the USA have to pay more to get new American made guitars. The used guitar you saw reflects the higher price someone paid to buy it new.
hamerhead Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 $350...........................SOMEBODY had to do it!
