HELShane Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I have no idea why Greg used the neck he did or where he got it. The 67 SG body with a removed neck had been hanging on the wall for years.. During a sabbatical from working at BCR (me, not Greg) , Greg put it together with the Hamer neck, shot it black with a spray can and then ripped it apart. Why? I don't know, never asked, why Greg does some of the things he does is best off not questioning!Well I know why, because I was there. To bust balls. He had the busted SG, and he had a Blitz (I think it was a Blitz) with a hacked up body and a complete neck and Sustain Block. At some point, I mentioned that he should put them together and make one good guitar. His eyes lit up and he said, "Yeah! Imagine the shitstorm on the HFC!"And that's the only motivation he needed.Welcome to the HFC, Shannon!I'm looking forward to my Standard's HELification!I coulda sworn he said Duotone.. However, he had just gotten one into the shop that day so he might of grafted that into his memory!!If you saw an explorer style body with that headstock, then I'd agree it was a Blitz.. I just updated the auction to say "Hamer neck". The truss Rod cover is blank, so that didn't help and the only thing I can say about it is that it's meatier than any of my scarab necks.I had stopped working for Greg for a few years when he did it so I only ever saw the SG body!

I got a GIANT piece of mahogany glued up for you!!
kizanski Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Ps.. I got a GIANT piece of mahogany glued up for you!! NICE! Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was a Blitz. It was on his wall for years. That's an '80's neck anyway, and there were no Duotones at that time.
HELShane Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Yeah, I know, I changed the whole add.. I can't verify the age cause the serial number is long gone, I put 90's originally because I though he said Duotone (still swear he did), but now I'm just sayin Hamer Neck because that's the only thing I'm sure of!!!! Frets are exactly like my scarab though and it's an 84.
cynic Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 I'm looking forward to my Standard's HELification! Another modified explorer style??
