will a modern hamer (studio etc) accept a humbucker with long tabs?

Hi all,

link to my wolfetones ad below. I have a question from a member as to whether the long legs of the wolfetones

will fit in the routes for a modern Hamer? (I don't have a studio handy to measure)

height of wolfetone humbucker from bottom of tab to top of pickup 1.068"

height of a Duncan alnico pro II which I assume is close to a 59-JB .80"

so I suspect it's a about a quarter of an inch deeper, any idea of whether they will fit? Thank you!

Short leg pups were made for flat top type guitars, super strats, etc.

But, not always the case.

Most arch top, carve top types (Gibson, Hamer, etc.) with tall or extra tall pup rings accept the tall legged pups.

Your prospect could measure the cavity depth to make sure that it is well in its parameter to accept long legs.

I never measured them, but I have Wolfetones installed in a Studio Custom (Triple Threat), as well as his P-90s installed in another Hamer (Vanguard), with no issues. But, as per above, it never hurts to measure!

Aren't the '59s used in the bridge of most Hamers long legged? I would think the routing would support long legged in both positions.
