My current stash of Telecasters, I have a feeling its only going to grow. 

RED: MIM James Burton Telecaster. Killer Lava Paint, with a nice chunky neck. Very similar to the BAJA Tele's designed by the Fender Custom Shop. When I bought the guitar I stripped it down to build it into a gigging guitar to back up my Junior. Replaced Tuners with Sperzels (required reaming), I made the pick guard from scratch so I could mount a Strat size single coil. All new electronics all the way to the jack, Dimarzio Chopper T in the bridge and the Cruiser in the neck, replaced the bridge with a fender baseplate with Graph Tech Saddles, added two mounting holes to the front of the bridge for anchors.I could not get the new bridge to set up correctly and finally had to bow out and take it to a friend. He ended up shimming the neck so I could lower the bridge. I though I would be able to tell, but its so slight I haven't even noticed. Frets were dressed and set up perfectly. This was a GC Find and i'm into it up over my eyeballs, but it had been played. Not beat to shit just played you could tell that this was someones #1 and it just happened to be traded in with a Fender Silverface Pro combo. 

Black: I walked into a music show about a month ago and the resident tone monkey was overly happy to see me. LOL After getting a swift tour we end up on the back wall where he was hiding this tele he wanted me to see. $200, but I shied away from it at first. I ended up coming back that afternoon on my way home and he sidled up to me and said "I talked to Tony and said you were interested in that tele, I hope that was oK?" Then he said $150 if you take it now". Well you know what happened then. LOL True 70's Left Handed Neck, with an unknown body that had a Dimarzio Super Distortion T and some EMG Passive in the neck. Of course I gutted the whole thing, Made a pickup Ring for it, all new guts and a set of Gravelins. Last but not least a trip to the doctor for a fret dress and new nut. You can see the clear coat is flaking off, but that just adds to the vibe. 

 

BLONDE: Last but not least and the one that holds a special place in my heart the BLONDE. I've had it a full year that is saying something. 2016 durning a 4321 Trip we we had a great lunch and whole group decided to walk down the street to TWIN TOWN GUITARS. We invaded and quickly ceased control of the inventory. I picked up all the new Tele's and just wasn't feeling it that day. Something about brand new guitars just doesn't do it for me and I was looking for a deal. I stumbled into the Amp booth to try out a tele and sitting in the room was this little Blonde Mutt for $350. So I picked it up and played it, it needed a few things and the neck pup was dead. So after passing it around, no body thought it was super special but a good price. I struck me and I couldn't leave it. So I haggled with the staff and ended up paying them what they wanted. LOL They just put it out on the floor and I looked like a sucker. So it went home with me and after about 5 sets of pickups, I ended up with a Dimarzio Hot Area T and Area Neck and it fits that guitar. I also gutted it with all new electronics and just this week took it in to get a clean bill of health. The frets were dressed and levels and it was setup with 10's. After it was done he sent me a few pictures from the bench. The body ended up being a Warmoth Blonde Ash Body and I already new the neck was a Japan Tele Neck. They all have seperate personalities, tone and a story.

LOL, if you ever get a chance to hold one you will understand when I say they don't feel new. They look new, they smell better than new, but to the touch they feel broken in and that is no lie.
