Never2Late Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 What pickup rings do I need for a Mirage II, dual-Hum?
murkat Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Gibson, DiMarzio, allparts. just about any of them that are USA spec. The asian rings are too wide.
veatch Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 What color you want? Stock was black. I can see if i have something in the parts bin.
Armitage Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 It's best to buy in pairs, cream changes every batch and sometimes black is glossy, other times it's matt.
Never2Late Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 A guy from Ovation got his hands on one of the unfinished Mirage prototypes from the factory, and I was able to obtain it. The woodwork and finish is complete, under a heavy glaze of un-buffed clearcoat (they were apparently experimenting with maple-topped burst finishes). The guitar has a serial number, but no parts were installed other than the truss and frets. I'm assuming this needs a set of arched rings, and not flat-bottom. Flat-topped or slanted? I'm thinking of going with cream - I'm sitting on a set of Gregwinds in cream, I thought I'd throw them in and see how they sound.
