texwest Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 I just bought an old 92 sunburst with the TOM bridge and it at least needs new saddles. possibly considering a new bridge. I just would like to know what bridge they were using back then. I'm thinking either Schaller or Tonepros. Thanks
cmatthes Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Schaller. I don't think TonePros was around in '92.

tbonesullivan Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Schaller bridges. Schaller tuners. Lots of Schaller. Good German stuff, though it became hard to find a few years back, I think due to some issues relating to the owners passing away?
texwest Posted July 1, 2017 Author Posted July 1, 2017 Thanks guys great info. I'm leaning toward just replacing the saddles so its good to know that I need ones that will fit a Schaller bridge. Any idea where I can source schaller saddles?
Hamersaur Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 A few years ago I needed to replace the saddles on my 94 FM with a Schaller bridge. Had trouble finding some so I ended up contacting Schaller direct via e-mail just looking for direction as where to find the saddles. They were kind and generous enough to send them to me from Germany free of charge complete with picks and a sticker. Still had to get the slots cut into the saddles as they came as blanks. I was and still am impressed with the service I got.
texwest Posted July 1, 2017 Author Posted July 1, 2017 Well then I will have to email them and see what happens!
