DiMarzio Super Ds and PAFs - what have I got?

Diocletian

Question

These are pickups I took out of guitars I recently sold (Hamer Slammer Series Sunburst and a PRS SE Custom 24). To me they're old Super Distortion/Dual Sound and PAF with the nickel-steel baseplate suggesting that one is newer.

I'm just curious what I have, it's hard to find any info on this stuff.

Note the Dual Sound (?) has mounting legs that are flat. I wonder if someone did that to try and make new ones because the old ones wore away (the mounting holes are too big so something has gone on at some point).

somebody bent the legs out flat on the DS and punched holes in them.

I must have had that pickup for a few years but only really thought about the legs today when taking the photo.

Anything on ages of them?

DP103 is the model number of the 36th Anniversary PAF. They have nickel silver base plates like that, not the brass you usually see, and they have the extra holes. They were introduced in 2008.  The other PAF looking one could be any number of things.  Getting a DC resistance reading from all these pickups would be helpful with IDing them.

The 13.2K is just about right for a super distortion.

Square legs,  braided wire, and  "DIMARZIO PICKUPs MADE IN THE U.S.A." would put them somewhere between 1977, and 1982, as far I know.

I agree because the X2N pickups in my 81 have the black jacket cable.
