Which Speakers?

Hey All, I need speakers for band rehearsal. Vocals and keyboards will be going through them. Peavey SP5X and Yamaha SV15 are available to me and priced the same. Anyone have an opinion on which one would be best?

Do you mean Yamaha S115V speakers?

I use a pair for my PA. Solid and sound great. Recommended to me by a dealer who is also a big Peavey dealer.

Yamaha. All the way.

But then I'm a known Peavey hater. Not so much the gear but the people in charge.

I have a pair of Yamaha stage monitors I use as my PA, and they are just fantastic sounding. I think in my own head I assume Yamaha is better quality, which is what usually gets my dollar, and ALWAYS gets my dollar in "same price, basically" situations.

If they are at all comparable I would go with the Yamaha simply because they are 49 pounds versus the Peaveys at  69 pounds.
