Guest johnQ-ball Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 This has been my baby and main guitar for the past 5 years. It is a custom, crown inlay, bound neck and body, arched spruce top with f-hole, tobacco sunburst, 2 covered seymour duncan humbucking pickups, acoustic guitar bridge and output, 3-way for electric side, master volume for acoustic,3 band eq for acoustic on backplate, 2 outputs. I guess anyone here on the Hamer Forum knows all the specs already. I am just seeing if anyone has a nice Gibson Les Paul, or whatever else you may have available for trade. I'd also be interested in a Godin Montreal to try out. I only play hybrid acoustic/electrics out live. I'm 48 and have tried many different brands. The Hamer Duotone Custom is probably the best. I also use a Carvin AE185 but I had it made with custom electronics not offered on their standard model and cost me more but it does sound great. I also use a Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Sport w/active piezo bridge. I've had a Taylor T5 and they are not a good sounding or even a hybrid guitar. It is a shame because the build quality was incredible, it played great but sounded neither like an electric or acoustic even after I put acoustic strings on it. Poor design. Let me know what you have, send pictures. I have pics of my Duotone. Thanks, John QuinnArchbald, PA570-383-3291 #3142
Rocktuna Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Hey John I thought you were never going to part with this one???? John is the MAN don't worry about dealing with him
Guest johnQ-ball Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I know. Maybe it's the post Super Bowl Blues. Cabin Fever. If I do get a trade offer I may not know what to do. If I keep talking/thinking about it I also may change my mind. Thank you for the kind words! Duotone Customs are the best sounding acoustic/electric hybrids out there!
