sw686blue Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Paypal offers two choices of payment, either via credit card or via bank transfer. From what you posted, he will pay you through paypal and the money will be removed from his bank account into yours. Am I wrong?I don't see any danger on your end of things.
unfun 75 Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 I thought that was the best way. Don't you avoid fees as a buyer that way?
Rocktuna Posted February 8, 2006 Author Posted February 8, 2006 The buyer never pays fees to paypal, it's the seller who does. and in this case I'm the seller, wanting him to cover the fees.
marcnorth Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 I would not ship until the money cleared unless I knew the person or other's he had dealt with. Is he a verified paypal member? If so I would trust the transaction more.If you have a preimer or business account with paypal you'll pay the fee to withdraw your money. If you only have a personal account I think it might be free. You can find out on paypal's main web page.I say if you have any doubts about the transaction at all just say no thanks.
marcnorth Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 the buyer "always" pays fee's Only if the seller charges them the fee.
Rocktuna Posted February 8, 2006 Author Posted February 8, 2006 Yea if he sends a bank transfer I think they take a few days to clear. If he's a premier account I think it clears immediatly. I have a premier account so I get charged fees after using paypal for $2000.00 they force you to get a premier account
marcnorth Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Here's a link.http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_...ay-fees-outside
Rocktuna Posted February 8, 2006 Author Posted February 8, 2006 Thanks guys I sent him a note explaining that it's free for him to send me money but I have to pay to recieve it.
kurtsstuff Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 DOH!!! yep...had that backwards...the "seller" always pays fee's....my bad...
unfun 75 Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 DOH!!! yep...had that backwards...the "seller" always pays fee's....my bad... Yea, I had it backwards, too. Obviously it is a confusing issue.
DavidE Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 If he pays by echeck, there will be a decent delay in getting the payment to you. I haven't experienced any delay in instant bank transfers.
