Guest @tlas Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Hey guys, I was hopiing to get some guidance in prcing for a 25th Anniversary (red). I have one, and may have to sell. I have seen them go for $450 or so (for the broken one recently) to as much as $900 (quoted from a dealer. Mine has one very minor nick on the bottom (side facing down when playing) and otherwise is tip-top. Is the range I quoted above reasonable? Thanks in advance.
atquinn Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I don't think I'd sell one for less than $600; selling on for $450 is insane! -Austin
Submariner85 Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 The one I got for 450 is awesome. Can't even tell it's been fixed playability wise. The fix was very well done. The features are cool, mahogany, mahogany, mahogany with striations.Being it's a limited edition 1999 only guitar, I'm sure you could get quite a bit for it.
Zoner Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Insane, maybe, but done in the spirit of passing on a good deal to a fellow HFC'er. I sold it for what I paid a week earlier, and know it will get played rather than end up living a lonely life in its case, seldom seeing the light of day. Z
Nuclear Wessel Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I'm with atquinn. Between $600 and $700 is about average for a used 25th in very clean shape. Under $600 only if you've gotta sell it fast or if there's extenuating circumstances like a repair or serious player wear. Being a limited edition hasn't seemed to increase its value yet. Pretty much everyone here acknowleges they're great sounding guitars, but the "25th Anniversary" printed on the headstock hasn't made it a sought after collectible yet. There are plenty of them around, and Hamer still makes the same guitar, just under the model name Artist Mahogany.
Submariner85 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I'm sorry. I was just thinking Ebay. The people that buy on Ebay are hard to predict but I've seen alot of stuff go on there for more than you would think.
Guest @tlas Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Thanks guys! This has to be one of the most active message boards I've been on!
