Classic 57 Question

I got one in a Hamer a couple years back, then I pulled it and put it in my LP and loved it. I purchased this SG a couple years ago, sold it, and purchased it back. When I first bought it, I pulled the pickups for a picture and the neck was a classic 57 and the bridge was a Duncan Custom Custom. They sound great together, but I want to get another classic 57 to have just in case down the road I want to put it in.

My issue is i've never seen another one that had labels on it like this, has anyone else?

Not sure those are Gibson stickers.  All the '57s I've owned had the replica PAF sticker.

I've got a double black I'll include for free if you buy my blue Bacchus SG.

LOL, sorry bro that ain't going to happen.

Yes, all of mine didn't have a Pat# either so I wonder what the hell it actually is. They sound great together, I have no issues with that.

@murkatWhat the hell is it?

Maybe it's an early one? That is the correct marking for a Gibson pickup "PAT NO. 2737842". I forget when they stopped stamping that on the bottom.

That pickup definitely looks to have had the cover off at least once. Maybe it had a repair? They could have replaced the base plate, though I'm not sure why.

the "stickers" are not oem gibson. The pat# stamp and bezel, brass screws appear to be gibson. Pat# stamps lead to Plant production pickup. Custom Shop does not use Pat# stamped bezels unless they ran out of the usual CS stock. Could be a classic, could be a 490r too...

Thanks Jay, whatever it is, it sounds good in this guitar.
