tommy p Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Love it, especially the back. Looks like it's just getting broken in good.
Jakeboy Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 My 1980 Special was the most resonant guitar I ever played. I only moved it cause the neck on mine was so very thin ..,well, that and I had to have a Newport. Don’t do what I did. Hold onto your Special. Just buy a Newport outright.

Interesting about the neck thickness. I'd heard people say these can be thin. I haven't measured mine, but I wouldn't describe it as thin. My favorite necks are probably the Pattern Vintage on the 594. This isn't quite that thick...

Mine was quite thin, but had "shoulders" to it, so it didn't feel like a Wizard neck or anything. Just a bit more like that flat-backed classical neck feel from what I recall. My Artist has a much more generous neck; great profile - I should really play that more. By comparison my Shishkov Ultimate neck is a beast - probably deeper (front to back) than my Artist and with some shoulder.
