BCR Greg Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 No one has said, "Wow. what an unusually rare piece you have there. I hope you have great luck selling it." I think Hamerhead mis-represented this forum.I've gotten a lot of emails WorldWide from some decent people saying its a really nice instrument and they wish they had a few extra bucks to spend. Nice to see the decent side of humanity still exists, even in small quantities. It's not an unusually rare piece, it's a hacked up, low appeal guitar. All the decent people in the world can say what they want, THEY AREN'T BUYING IT.
Andrew Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 The final arbiter has to be the market. The Union Jack Blitz on eBay has original case and hardware, a much rarer finish and has not had switches added. It has stalled at $580 and will probably end at about $750.As I said above 3+3 Blitzes are one of the real bargain Hamers now, and are seriously under-rated. My opinion only, but the 3+3 headstock gives much better tuning stability (without a lock-nut) than the hockey stick style.Andrew.
mattb Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 People here have told you what the guitar is worth. Take it for what it is. Keep it at whatever price you desire, it's your guiter. Just don't expect to sell it to anyone on this board. We are a family here and we give eachother deals. $1200 fer a beat blitz aint gonna happen homeslice. I feel bad for whoever gets duped into buying it for that much.-MattB
BadgerDave Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Settle down there, Red.No one's been rude to you here. You just raised our collective BS meter with your initial deceptive eBay "Ted Nugent Signature Guitar" listing and your hyperbole rich, factually challenged second listing. How about actually answering the questions about the electronics and fret wear, rather than tap dancing? The correct answers are:1) the electronics are not original, (not, "I can't confirm that all of the switches are original") and2) a full description of the condition of the frets (not, "Fretboard and frets are not an issue").You lost more credibility by overstating the book value of the Blitz and the differential between the different headstock models. Check your math. Add in the fact that you're quoting prices for excellent condition, all originial guitars with OHSC, when yours has modified, poorly executed wiring, a likely replaced tremolo (does the Floyd say "Hamer" on the baseplate?) and no case, and you come across as less than honest. By the way, $69.00 for shipping a guitar with no case? What's the extra $50.00 for?If you can bamboozle someone into paying what you're asking for that guitar, more power to ya. You have a bright future in the diet pill infomercial industry.I'll tell you what we respect around here. People who are honest and straight-forward. We demonstrate that by respecting each other's intelligence and quickly dismissing those who employ dishonest tactics, whether on eBay or on this board. If you keep coming back for validation that your $1,200 asking price is valid, it's not going to happen. If you're one of those guys who just has to have the last word, or needs to posture as the smartest guy in the room, I'll look forward to your reply.
Kilroy is all about... Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Considering Uncle Rick calls his pointing hamers EXPLORERS , not standards, (prose Nielsen's guitar descriptions in the back of his book)I believe Red can call his buddy's whored-out-plank a $1.2k Blitz.... kilroy continues to avoid his in-basket this fine monday morning.
Red Scuderia Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 $69.00 flat rate shipping for that guitar is more then fair. Its a heavier then average guitar. The box and materials cost money. Have you any idea what it would cost to ship that guitar from my state, NJ, to Hawaii or West coast? I would, because ive done it dozens of times.Like I said, you are all welcome to your opinions. The guitar isnt for you. It will go. And why feel bad if someone pays more then you would? People have paid more and less for things you own. Something is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. My feedback is my credibility. Other then the mook that bought my used Nokia cell phone and complained of surface scratches after viewing the SUPERSIZED pictures, check his feedback.. He did it to 4 other people.. My feedback is perfect, and will remain. I am 100% forthrite. I cant confirm they are original and im led to believe theyre not. Im not a Hamer professor and never claim to be. Guitar hasnt been refretted to my knowledge and the board is in great condition: hence, not an issue.as for the first auction, like Hamerhead and I posted, i was mis informed on the history of the guitar and ended the auction within 45 mins of its start. Dont sit there and tell me thats not credible. I didnt know, i learned, i reacted. As for the "butchered electronics" i have a 1979 BC Rich Mockingbird which will fetch somewhere near $3000.00US. They are incredibly hot in the market and they were basically made in a garage using scrap parts of amps and other guitars. The soldering looks like a kid in his basement did it and even has electrical tape! And thats ORIGINAL!
Red Scuderia Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 ..And for what its worth, the Union Jack one looks to be a very nice example. I wouldnt pay $300 for a Union Jack guitar. I think its ugly. If i were in some Def Leppard tribute band, then id be all over it. But im not. So the $580 its at, to me, is over priced. Maybe I should start a post and bash that guy like youve all done to me. Wait, im new here so my opinions and views are worthless.

JohnnyB Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I wouldnt pay $300 for a Union Jack guitar. I think its ugly. You wouldn't? If you could flip it for $600-800?
Kilroy is all about... Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 yyy aaaaa..Red, you're opinions aren't worthless . In fact, I can relate to being pushed around because i had a belief/story/attitude that was contrary to public opinion. Nevertheless, you're 'puffing' the features and benefits of your buddy's guitar and that's all about sales , so latitude is given. However, that guitar is not worth your claim$ within this forum, which can have both very helpful information and back-biting commentary--(check your feelings at the gate and engage with an open-mind-that's what i do) Once back in early '04, i disclosed i had a $6k '59 reissue les paul and got royally flamed, but i learned from the experience and have continued to play, buy/sell and traded some of rarest of hamers with some righteous dudes. good luck.. kilroy posts..
Red Scuderia Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Thanks Kilroy.. Its hard to keep an open mind. Dont get me wrong, i wouldnt pay $1200 for it either. I dont like it. But its not what I like..its the what someone in the world is willing to pay.For the record, i didnt misquote any prices.. If you want me to take a picture of the 06 Vintage Magazine price guide, page 129 and post it, i will. Complain to them if you think the 6 on a side is worth more.I happen to like 6 on a side headstocks myself.
