Truss rod, neck issue. So, I have an ‘83 Vector I wanted to adjust the neck as it had a bit more of relief than I liked. Removed the truss rod cover and noticed there were quite a few threads showing. I adjusted the neck, Played it for a few days and back into the case it went.
Well now about a month later, I brought it out to play it again and noticed some cracks in the finish on the neck (one running vertical-one horizontal). I can definitely feel the one running parallel to the neck itself (it’s about 1 inch in length).
I have not attempted to move the adjustment nut anymore either.
Obviously I’ll keep an eye on it, but is there anything specific I should watch out for?
It still plays fine, I just don’t want to cause any bigger problems.
