Jakeboy Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I bought my first Z ever from our resident Z expert @bubs_42recently and while it sounds fabulous and lives up to all the hype, I have a Lil Dawg that covers that base. I cannot abide gear redundancy so I will start by listing it here. Overbuilt Z goodness! TRADED AWAY! That is really as low as I can go. Head is in great shape with a cool 20th anniversary badge on top. The tube chart is from a Z28 so a previous owner either swapped into a Z28 head shell or they shipped it with the wrong tube chart inside the back. No matter…the Z28,M12, Ghia, and Monza all use the same exact head cab. 2 el84s, an ef86, and a 12ax7. Hi/Lo switch. Does 12 watts with a 5y3 rectifier and 20watts with a GZ34. This amp was promoted as a pedal platform (at which it excels) but it does so much more. Here is a link of what you can expect: Pics tonight.
ArnieZ Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 I think this amp was originally conceived as a clean platform to be used with pedals. Z’s ef86 amps love pedals! arniez
Jakeboy Posted August 8, 2023 Author Posted August 8, 2023 It was and it excels at that if I didn’t have that base covered already, I’d keep it forever. It’s a great sounding amp. I just cannot have that redundancy in my gear right now.
BoogieMKIIA Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Seems like a great deal. Look at prices for new 2xEL84 amps. Alas, too many amps, not much money for me.
Travis Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 How is this not gone yet? Fantastic amp from an awesome builder and it’ll hold its value. C’mon, people. Somebody pull the trigger!!!
