Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Tommy Shaw did formerly use mostly Gibsons, but Hamer lured him away for a number of years...he dabbled wit Taylor and recently returned to Hamer. So the gear section isn't really up-to-date. I tried to do a correction, but I expect it will get deleted.Amusingly, the pictures show Tommy playing a Taylor and a Hamer.A question, and a request:Is that a Sunburst in the lower picture? It doesn't seem to be any of the current models, but it doesn't look much like a Sunburst, either. But what do I know? [shrug] It's probably a custom model made just for him.So the request is, anyone want to fix up the section? Or maybe add up in the narrative area something about Tommy inspiring the Duotone?

Mark is that a new one? Nope, been in the rotation for a few years now. Place I got it from did say it came from the studio of a player down state...but no name or anything.

For some reason, I thought it was a double-cut when I first looked at it, so I didn't even bother comparing it to Hamer's single-cut guitars. From your posting here it is clearly a single-cut.Thanks.I'll update the wiki entry later.
