Any HFC'er in/near Manchester CT....
stonge replied to bry4321's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Manchester CT is the next town over from me; email me at stongemon@aol.com and we can discuss what you need. Thanks, stonge -
I liked the post because it's great to hear someone with a positive attitude pushing forward with his life. Good on you sir as they say... I felt a little weird about the 'like' though; I like that he's positive but not that he's facing the challenges in the first place. It's like Netflix asking me after I've watched a documentary about Nazi Germany or the Holocaust. If I rate the documentary with a 'like' will that endorsement get me onto a watch list? I don't like the atrocities but the documentary was well done.

Nice. I have a 1990 seven string version of that (no monkey grip, green dots not the vines) and I dig the black/green look. It's a little more tasteful than the neon yellow or floral versions that i have but I'm sure it plays and sounds great. Those are fun guitars to play. Congrats!

This is a rack system that holds up to 14 guitars (rows of 4/3/4/3) that's been in storage since the early 90's. Only 2 guitar stands are shown but you can see the mounts on the rest of the horizontal bars for reference and the remaining stands are included and require assembly. Ibanez gave these to music stores in the late 80's to showcase the product line. The whole thing breaks down with a 5mm hex key, and you can adjust the stand locations and angles. The 3 guitar stands on the top row require a little taller ceiling, but you can take the stands off the top row if you don't need or can't use them. Free for local pickup in East Hartford, CT. Email me at stongemon@aol.com.

Greg Koch plays loud unapologetically

I was seriously interested in those last year, but after checking out the video I'm glad I passed on those. I picked up a Recording King RD-328 which has a solid top and sides and plays and sounds really good. It was a B-stock at Butler Music but I couldn't find anything wrong with it.

New Guitar Day. Why? Because Glen Buxton!
stonge replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I had a reissue (not custom shop) just like that back in the 90's and it was cool but I kept bashing into the middle pickup with my pick. I can't remember what I traded it away for, but it resides in my "didn't know what I had at the time, wish I had kept it" file in my mind. Enjoy! -
Stupid question, explain Strat pickup positions to me

Anyone want a John 5 Rig Rundown?
stonge replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
i've seen him a couple of times, and he can go from Les Paul to heavy to banjo rolls at the blink of an eye. The guy can just play. Outside of some interesting guitars, his rig is like 6 boss pedals into an EVH 5150 head. Same rig he supposedly uses for Crue. Least pretentious rig rundown i've seen in a long time. -
Yes that is a Hamer USA case. I'm pretty sure it's original to the guitar, but guitars can end up in the wrong individual case (the usual tell is to look at the control pattern in the inside top of the case - this one definitely looks like the Eclipse pattern) so let's call it original-spec Hamer USA case lol.
-
This is a 1996 Hamer Eclipse in tobacco burst with OHSC; the guitar is in very clean condition with only one or two depressions in the finish (nothing through to the wood). The guitar has TonesPros locking studs and a lightning bar bridge currently on it with a Wilkenson adjustable wrap tail bridge in the case (I think I have a TonePros wrap tail for it around here somewhere, and I'll throw that in if I can find it lol). 7 lbs 12 ounces on my postal scale, and the neck feels like a medium D carve. Pardon the reflections in the photos; it also looks like a one piece body to me. Priced at $899 + actual shipping in continental US; of course in person pickup in East Hartford, CT is welcomed or i can meet up within a reasonable distance. You can reach me at stongemon@aol.com with any questions about the guitar. Best Wishes, stonge

I think you're correct - maybe he was using it to block the floating trem?
