Fun fact at the end: I've known about the existence of this exact guitar since 1981!!! Back then there was a review in a german magazine for musicians (Fachblatt). I have adored this Hamer ever since but I was never able to find out anything more specific about it. And now,45 years later ...

Thank you all for your appreciation. Here are some additional facts and features of the Vectors. Although they look very similar, there are some significant differences: The regular Vector: - one (!) piece mahogany body - one piece maple overlay - three piece mahogany "stressed" neck, medium rounded C-shape - regular neck joint - no binding - regular triangular metal back plate The 4-digit: - two piece mahogany body - two piece maple overlay - one piece mahogany neck with two additional narrow stripes of wood at the headstock, rather flat sharp D-shape! - smooth neck heal - neck set deeper into the body - 5-ply body binding, 3-ply binding at the neck and headstock - differently shaped plastic back plate

Almost. Actually there are a few small dings and scratches on the back. Out of the time capsule are both warranty cards, a still sealed (!) envelope with the key for the case and a historic set of Fender DYNAMaX strings. And both guitars have received my usual treatment before being photographed.

Still the best album they ever recorded. Here with a different "book club" cover, the way I bought it. A very long time ago! As far as I know the album was never released in the US.

Sometimes the stars align, especially when you least expect it, and something special happens. I was browsing the classifieds of "Kleinanzeigen" (German "Craigslist") out of boredom in the middle of the night. I was already half asleep when suddenly ... I immediately contacted the seller by email. He was on vacation at the time, but after a brief phone call the next morning, he considered my interest in buying to be genuine and promptly removed the ad. After a short negotiation about shipping the guitars (which the seller initially didn't want to do), I received the two Vectors, undamaged, in one (!!!) cardboard box. And here they are:

Even though I'm not a HFC-veteran, this news make me sad. I know you all for more than 12 years now and wouldn't trade that for anything. Too many good guys lost. Mr. Rechts, rest in peace.

No, I haven't created a list yet. But I'm planning to move to a larger home next year (near Koblenz) with more space for the guitars. So this is an invitation to you to visit me and the Hamers.

I found it on "Kleinanzeigen". It's a website similar to "Craigslist". The seller is a musician himself (keybords) and had a studio in which he used the neon sign as decoration. He had acquired it many years ago when a music store closed down and now wanted to get rid of it. I had to pick it up in person, because he did not want to ship it for understandable reasons. I didn't even know that such a thing existed.

... at least at my home: Recently I discovered this beautiful neon sign (not LED!). I suspect that it is from the 80s or 90s. I even had to buy a step-down transformer to be able to use it. Amazing that it survived all these years unharmed. With more than 40 Hamer guitars in my collection, it seemed to me to be the cherry on top. I hope you like it too.
