Duane was great, really brilliant. Warren is every bit as good if not better at this point. Whenever I think slide, two names come to mind - Warren Haynes and Bonnie Raitt

My buddy Kevin is a professional musician, plays keyboards, piano and sings. He was doing his usual Saturday night when we were in college, and he hated having to sing Billy Joel songs. Patrons would tip him well, so he would do it. One night he looked at me and said, I finally got through a night with no Bill Joel songs. I put a 10 spot in the jar and requested piano man. He told me to fuck off. I put another 10 spot in and drunkenly said PIANO MAN!!!!! He sung it. Wouldn't talk to me for three hours afterwards, and still shakes his head to this day whenever that story comes up. (It was 12 years ago)

guitfiddler - I fail to see how Mr. Joels relatives horiffic experiences impact on how people view his music. We can take it to the OC, I'm game. I don't hate his music with the exception of "We didn't start the fire" bullshit. BD - that was too funny!

OK, I have to say it, the tye dye is ugly as sin. Take that Jerry Garcia POS and throw it in a bonfire, or send it to Stike for a refin. Sorry if someone owns that, but I hate tye dye and always thought people wearing it looked like tools.

It's also my understanding that Hamer has been known to change thier mind overnight. Try again. Perhaps the answer will be different. I'm just glad this post has not only taken bizzare turns, but it has a page three so I no longer have to scroll really fast to avoid looking at Poe's hairy ass.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I can appreciate what you are going through, I lost an Aunt, Grandmother, and some family friends to cancer. For what it's worth, I have seen a case where they gave someone I know 1 year to live and 10 years later we still talk. Wishing you the best....

Peter - what made you "Pony Up" for a guitar that is somewhat available at budget prices? Was it worth it? How does it compare to the older Chaps, I assume there is somekind of difference? BTW - Nice looking guitar

Everyone lay off Jack. He's a good guy who's passionate about specific guitars. Better that he saves his $$$ and gets exactly what he wants at the time rather than spending it on drugs or some other bullshit. HB, lay off and stop baiting Jack. Jack, stop taking the bait. It's a message board, m'kay?! Jack is entitled to change his mind and tastes 1000+ times if he want's to, it's the American way to always want some more, something better, something grander. Besides, Jacks a hardcore/death metal guy who would probably rip us all to shreds after years of Slayer listening.

I just wanted to note I found a cool Hamer ad, not start a shitstorm.

I was going through old rock stuff with the Missus when we ran across an old ad from Hamer featuring Vernon holding an awesome Chap, the one that says "E=MC2" in the fretboard. Cool ax!!!!! It's a mint condition ad, I'm probably going to have to frame this one eventually. I never would have noticed it except it was on the back page of an old guitar player that we were tossing. Good stuff.

My #1 is my old Gibson J-45 acoustic, checking in at 14 years. I have an old Harmony Meteor that I've had for 16 years, I love it but it's not #1.
