  2. I prefer Oak, myself... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfoWgLDxT_8
  3. The box set was actually $30, but I just grabbed it!
  4. Yeah, but you liked Modern Day Delilah too so the point is moot.
  5. Well, it's here anyway. Frankly I don't even know the words to DDL chorus after the "you know that you want it, I know what you need" bit, but to me, the strength of the melody and chorus construction on DDL is way better than the new one, which takes it out of triple A and into the majors, songwriting-wise. I'd agree that the lyrical approach could be the same.
  6. Here's Mr. Disagreeable: Drop Dead Legs chorus slays the new tunes chorus. That kind of video "mismatch" is 100% artistic and intentional. That style has been popular for years. They spent at least 2 hours filming. I wouldn't opine except I actually had to be on a rock video shoot yesterday. Fun, but worked 4 hours for a 3 & half minute tune.
  7. I'm considering it strongly, Disturber! Got the Black Crowes link BTW, thanks.
  8. I was in FYE the other night and saw that box set for $23 used. Is that a good get?
  9. Lyrically/melodically the pre-chorus/chorus are a letdown, but otherwise OK. I give it a 6.
  10. Looks great on my iPhone, no app needed. Thanks, Ted!
  11. I am on for Philly.
  12. Philly Hard Rock 11/18. Not 100% sure I'm doing that one due to a local commitment. I'll post here in case you're thinking of saying hello. Rams Head in Baltimore is confirmed 1/21 w/ Dru Hill and Sisqo.
  13. We're at The Bitter End in NYC on Saturday, on @ 11pm! Another one from our last gig... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlosbmmvYUI...feature=related
  14. Badass! You mentioned that the "brain" has backing vox in it. Were the vox in this video live? They sounded great, as did everything else. The b. vox were live and brain, combined. Mostly brained I'd say, but I was singing pretty loud and proud on that one.
  15. From last weekend in Columbia, MD. Pardon the clam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgGZPgmr3u8 Next show NYC!
  16. I have a couple of Angel records. Re Broken Heart, I like it more than the first, but not as much as Head First. Waite is doing some solo shows in the region. I am so there.
  17. The Monaco's are available in Cherry Sunburst and Black ($399). It's actually palpable to me, so more difference than I would have thought.
  18. Arrived. I especially like the Jr. It's 6.3lbs, the Monaco is 7.75 lbs. Necks are on the "Modern" profile side. Street on the Jr. is $329, $489 on the Monaco. Nice to have 'em back! Fit and finish good on both.
  19. I did! BTW, CB, I picked up Broken Hearts today for a buck.
  20. That is cool! I've just been spinning vinyl and put the first album on the other day and the songs were bringing much joy. My friend Joe is CRAZY about Starz and he turned me on to them in the 80's, but it seems the older I get, the more I appreciate them. This stuff, today, makes me feel a little like Kiss made me feel in the 70's.
  21. Yup. There's talk of a show with Sisqo and Dru Hill.
  22. I was bending chords out of tune with the strings it had on it, no time to change them, and just felt more comfortable with the SP. Ended up nixing the Carl Martin though. SP--->TU2--->Tiny Terror--->2x12.
  23. Turn out was hampered by a serious cold front and drizzle, the "brain" the band plays to had issues (missing backing vox and what not), but the vibe among us was real good and Nokio (singer/leader) seemed happy and impressed. Nokio was/is the songwriter/produder/rapper/hype man behind Dru Hill, a Baltimore R&B/vocal group that sold a bunch of records. Interesting project, this Black Angel Down! Couple more local gigs are on, plus a Philly date and NYC at The Biter End!
