It's just predictable pettiness from people you probably wouldn't like anyway.
-
Got it. That's unfortunate.

FWIW, that's not exactly how they word it. It's: "The last of the remaining warehoused Hamer's are here." Which to me, means they had something to say and hype, but they gave it thought and used words that *wouldn't* make it sound like "these are the last Hamer's ever".

Tonight's the night! Plant in DC, sold out!

Aerosmith's Just Push Play out of the top of the Jeep for me... My drummer's girlfriend's sister's cassette copy of Supertramp's "Breakfast in America" out of the passenger window of her car on the NJ Turnpike for me. You know, I was pretty indifferent to that record when it came out back in the day, but a copy on vinyl just came through the store and I took it home and pretty much marvel at the songwriting and performance, same goes for Billy Joel's "The Stranger". As for music out the window, when I was with The Excentrics other bands we shared bills with would routinely give us CD's. I'll never forget how heartless (but funny) it was when they'd get an airing in the van and be highway litter in mere seconds.

Psyched to see them in DC. Those set lists are out there BTW, Steve. Thanks for the review. As I've always said, no one reinvents himself like Plant. The longer he's in the biz, the more I admire and respect him.

Robin's been straining a lot lately on televised stuff. I wonder if he has some sort of psychological thing going when he's taping for broadcast. He's sounded just fine at shows of late.

This is the Magnolia of threads! BCR Greg touts playing through Ace's amp as a hired gun with Ace's back up band's project, who's regular hired gun guitarist and/or drummer is playing a Guns N Roses gig (must be a private show 'cause GNR aren't advertised anywhere), RoyB says "Hey, I've got an Ace rig too!" to which Brentrocks posts perhaps the most perturbing picture in HFC history, the Ace amp gig turns out to be a bust and now everyone's bagging on this band (who should really be pointed to this thread, don't ya think?)! You. Guys. Kill. Me. Happy new year. Cue the raining frogs!

Is This Guy A Little Too Full Of Himself?

Looks like a bit of backlash... From ClassicRockMagazine.com: Mike Portnoy has parted with Avenged Sevenfold. The former Dream Threater drummer played on the band’s current album, Nightmare, and has been touring with them. He’s issued the following statement about the situation: “Yes, the rumours are true… Sadly my time with Avenged Sevenfold has come to an end… The band has decided to carry on into 2011 without me.. “I had a great time with them throughout 2010, but it was their choice to end the relationship at the end of 2010 as was always the initial plan… “I had an awesome time on stage with the guys every night and have so many cool memories from the experience with them… I am proud to always be part of the Avenged Sevenfold family and history. I also adore the Avenged Sevenfold fans and totally appreciate the way they welcomed me aboard and were so loving and supportive during my time with the band…thank you! “As far as my future, I am excited by the endless musical possibilities that lie ahead of me…my love for music runs very deep and my taste is very broad and ecclectic which will give me the chance to explore many different things and collaborate with many great friends and artists I admire and respect… “Happy holidaze to you all and c-ya in the New Year.” Talking about the departure of Portnoy, Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows told Pulse Of Radio that the public way the drummer handled his split from Dream Theater: was a contributing factor. “We felt that maybe both parties could have handled it a little more internally without being so press release-happy about what had happened between them. Because we’re a band that, really, when it comes to news all over web sites or this or that about bands, you know, we don’t tweet much, we don’t try to put ourselves out that much, and all the drama and controversy wasn’t something that we wanted at all.” -
My son performed for Paul McCartney tonight...

To the first sentence, when I said to Shilo guess where Michael Matthes is playing, she just holds up her hand like "don't tell me, I don't wanna hear it." This stems from the Springsteen story which I don't know if CM has shared. To the second sentence, +1. It's good to see the truly good guys get the truly special experiences. -

...that sort of has the countour of a Baby Grand but it's more Rhodes-like in nature? It was popular in the 70's. Thanks!

That banner was for real? I thought it was someone's Photoshop joke!

I highly doubt it, but maybe it's possible that folks like Jol and the Guitar Aficionado crew have conducted extensive market research and determined that one can indeed tap into a lucrative customer base by being an arrogant, abject prick. You know he was taking a swipe at Hamer with that remark since I'm sure he sees that they are now building the classic guitars he refused to. I perceive the Jol quote as a swipe at some (most?) of the HFC community. That's some pretty heady shit to put out there.

There's not gonna be a "street" price for this kind of thing. Those who want/can will pony up direct, for whatever the price dictated.

Anger Crewman "Riff" was my first custom order sale. I should have run screaming right then. I'll never forget when he said something like, "every time I look at the guitar I see your face and it makes me mad". The best part was joking with a certain HFC member/twin about some big 'ole elduave head truss rod covers to really rub it in. You guys kill me. BTW, IIRC, he flew off the handle for the guitar not being ready at the 6 month window. The top cracked while it was drying so it ran a little long. Big whoop. If it came from anybody else I'd swear it was a parody. I'm a Peppermint Tribe man, myself.
