  1. He's a player and I don't think would take it apart; I guess the question was more given the vast knowledge of hamer practices on this site what would be the likely pickup in that year/ guitar / beat up nickel finish?
  2. The seller tells me that these are the original pickups (97 artist), I'm guessing either Seth lover or antiquities? Can anyone chime in with a more educated guess?
  3. That girl made my whole morning
  4. That was good foresight! Congrats..they will only go up in value
  5. All of my tubes in all amps are nos I have a good stock so I swap and play until I get the right combo; V1 in that amp is a very special RCA black plate ax7, V2 is a Mazda 12at7, phase inverter is an at7 as well
  6. An update! I got two very nice strong black plate RCA 6l6gcs from ebay, total cost $85, they are without a doubt the bomb.. in this amp 6l6gc to me sounds much better than el34s; super happy about this and now I'll look for another pair, but at half power it sounds phenomenal and the overdrive tone and harmonics are that Indescribable goodness that in my experience only comes with old tubes
  7. I'm just going to put together a set of old school RCA black plates from ebay, the cost is the same or less than the new ones
  8. Great info, thank you all
  9. https://watfordvalves.com/product_detail.asp?id=273 What do you think? Are these the right ones?
  10. It is a Carvin V3 that I have done major signal path upgrades too, right now I've got mullard xf2's from back in the day in it and they sound really good, I might just try to get a quad of RCA black plate 6l6gc's, those are apparently the best of everything.. Winged C's get a lot of good press but they don't seem to be made anymore, does anyone know why not?
  11. Can the experts chime in on what their choice of 6l6gc power tubes would be? I had a quad of new production JJ's in an amp that just went bad, everyone hates them but I actually thought that those sounded good, but I didn't have anything else to compare them to.. what sounds best to you guys? Thanks so much
  12. Fantastic partnership!! I suspect this will result in me spending a bunch of money
  13. Thank you also for posting this, I had to ship a large heavy amp today and thanks to this post I was able to do it via PayPal for $110, next quote up was 160 and they took off from there.. forgot to check pirate ship

  15. What finish is that on the wood? That is really beautiful! You built?
  16. Any comments on the evm 12L versus the 12s? Are they pretty similar, vastly different?
  17. Breaking news.. spy satellites disabled by some sort of ground-based reflector weapon..now sports 🤣
  18. The hfc! A really fantastic place, so much incredible information here . And very valuable as it's difficult and expensive to try all this stuff on your own blind
  19. Is anyone making a quality Forte replica/ model right now? I think I noticed an avatar 2x12, any comments on those? I would like to try one of these, but they seem rare and expensive How would the forte sound compare to a regular open back 1x12 cab, is it just another dimension of greatness?
  20. Could you comment on a 1x15 vs 1x12? I've never heard a 15", but am under the assumption that they move a LOT of air. 10" to 12" is certainly a huge jump
  21. What are the sizes of the large and the small speaker?
  22. Is it like a 70's Cali chopper (the metalflake)? I'm going to have to send something to him one of these days
  23. That paint is incredible, what does it look like in the sun?
