What is the status of the Vintage Guitar Market ...
murkat replied to a topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
+1, just look at the trends, hate to say, even ebay trends. Example, the price on early 70's lp customs are just going nuts. Everyone wants one... theres only so many unmolested left and there catchin some high profit margins, will it keep going up, sure. Kryste, look at the prices for cbs fender strats and teles... 4 years ago they were gettin in the $750. range from mabe $620.ish.... look at them now,.... whats the trend in the near distant future? Brazilian. Sticka. Trees that will be no longer, maybe not in my life time, but shortly after -

1. Look close, the route "ramps" down into the body. Usually a level route for a recessed floyd. very cool detail. 2. I wanted to be sure when I ordered, my request, that the Floyd would be the same height as in relation as if there was a Tom bridge. I do not care for close strings to the top side of body. 3. Actually Mahogany with a rosewood board. 4. zebra Duncan 59' neck, zebra duncan JB trem spaced bridge, NO LOGOS inbossed. ( a trem JB sounds like the JB's from the way past... well usually,) 5 string setup~ 11 thru 46. 6 its on its way to the dealer today

Frank just sent these to me, courtesy from Jol, this is going to be good

Add to insult, I get this email today from my dealer Jeff~ "Hey Jay, The guitar looks great. The attention to detail that those guys are putting into their guitars is amazing. You are really really going to like this guitar. Jeff. " The pain.................... and no pics.................

Most factory floyd installs are recessed (routed) into the body. The Action, string height is very close to the guitar surface, like a strat, PRS, Ibanez, etc. They all have low neck pitch and hold close to the body top, where a Les paul has more of a neck pitch in relation to string height from top of body, as well as Hamers, with a TOM bridge and stop tail.

well, at least you have a pic.... nice guitr Citrus, see..... I can say that seeing that you have a pic..... haaaaaaaaa. Jay

quilted maple top, 59' burst reg. carved neck rosewood board floyd rose neck pitch/ height same as reg standard custom, recess cut not blacked out. custom duncan pup set. nothing really much else. The neck pitch/ height was my biggie. I don not care for a close mount like an Ibanez, etc.

I placed a custom order back in september thru a great dealer, Dave's in WI. I paid upfront. Custom Custom Standard to my specs, a doppleganger to my already Custom Standard only with some evil twists.... Frank and I have been emailing back and forth on the progress on my Custom order. No pics yet of the progress. To add insult to the progress I get and email from Frank.... "Hi Jay, Your guitar should be done next week. I was just at the factory with Jeff DePetro looking at your guitar! The top is killer!!! I wiill ask Jol if he could send what he has to me. I'll get back to you. thanks, Frank." This is just killin me. I am a mess. 8 yrs old and days before Xmas all over again. Teased to death. Pure Pain. My rant is over, but not feeling any better.....

a. yup, slight diff finish, "treatment" to the finish. b. yup, and then the "treatment"..... c. sure it is, depends on the demand, namm just happened, orders are in, wait till you see the R6's with a light tobacco finish hit the streets.... remember the old Pro's in the 70's only with a rosewood board and mahogany neck... killer d. VOS for 06', everything being plek'd 07'. yup, vos will have aged hardware, some dull, some surface rust, some.................
