maybe the 80's destroyer II's etc. but the first gen gibby lookalikes were sen, basswood is not pretty on its own with clear coat.

like you, google.... japan sen wood. find the scientific name, cross reerence as much as you can. you wont find much at all for tone, instrument apps thou.

Destroyers, Rocket roll V's, etc, were built using Sen wood. Sen mostly used in furniture making. I like the tone of Sen, one of my fav tone woods. Mytake is a cross between ash/alder tone wise. EVH's Dest is/was Sen as all of them were, even Ace's, Tommy Bolin, etc...... alot of the early japan made guitars that look like Ash will be probably be made of Sen.

Well......... back in the day I use to play two full stacks, stereo setup in my three piece band in the 90's in the Seattle area. I have one of the four now and added another, I could stack them.... naaaaa

after 12 hours of total play time on a set, there dead. Many years (20+)I used D'addario... just 2years ago I switched the E.B. Rockers, pure nickle wound. tizzdashzit, but still have to switch out after 12 hours... if they last that long.

mmmmmmm, The actual first Time I went whoa, I was 15ish at my cousins in NY for a family reunion, in the Garage, on the turntable they put on KISS Alive. I was lit up. Ace with a LP into a Marshall cranked, tizz was da shzit.

Tube Screamer to boost and scream. a nice tuner (korg DT10), Hate to add because I really dont care for, but, I can see where it would be great for you, Line 6 mm4(?) the multi modulator effect pedal, it will give ya lots of programable options for modulation FX's. That be a god start with some fun added :angry:

IIRC, that is a display guitar for plugging in differant Gibson pickups to A/B. I belive the pickup is just in there for looks. However, I'm not there so.... you are correct sir!

came home today with a big box waiting for me in the entry way..... extremely well packed. The guitar is everything the pics showed. nice slim/ fast neck. Case, guitar have a distinct under the bed stored away odor to it......It is very cool. needs a setup asap, will post pics someday.
