in my insane and neverending quest for tone i acquired in another of my insane episodes of g.a.s some lindy fralin humbuckers , these are his vintage gibson clones , 9k and 8k bridge and neck respectively , didn't know what to do so i stuck em in my 93 studio , SCHHHWIIIING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! instant boner , this is the stuff chubbies are made of(enough schoolboy sex references for ya yet?????? ) , honestly these are amazing , the bridge is my fave , absolute clarity but warmth at the same time , the neck is all about the "woman" tone in spades , not my fave tone but inspiring nonetheless , i ahve always used lindy's single coils and found them to be in a word perfect , apparently his buckers are no slouches either , be cool.................

goin on a gear rampage , lots o stuff happenin musically these days , all good , i have concluded among other things i need a another t-51 , would love a thinnish neck profile, love maple boards but rosewood is ok , color unimportant , beaters are cool , as long as it plays and sounds great , will be parting with a kickazzz beater daytona to do this but my man hamerman50 has first dibs this weekend , i'm ready to buy now , help me out boys, i promise it will be put to good use..............

After hearing a couple of guys rave about them here (and elsewhere), I got mine yesterday. Ordered it new for about $250 plus tax from Guitar Center during their President's Day sale. Neat little amp - I spent a couple of hours messing around with it last night and you can coax plenty of sounds from it. I don't know if a person could gig with it, but it meets my "bedroom practice amp" needs perfectly. i gig the crappp outa mine , need a speaker upgrade , that's all................. Cool. As your's was one of the recommendations I read - Thanks! if ya really wanna be blown away run it into a 2x12 or 4x12 cab , it'll put some butter in your biscuit, lead in your pencil, pep in our step , swag in yer bag , yadda,yadda,yadda.............. http://www.allenamps.com/parts.php#transformers i also put the to26 from this page in there , my tech had to drill one small hole to accomodate , if ya don't wanna drill i believe the to20 is a direct replacement , with the to26 i now use 6l6's and get another 5-6 watts out of it , just sounds fantastic......................

yup , mid 70's princeton reverbs seem to be going between 750-850 on the bay , with a weber seems like a nice deal to me , plus it's local and you can go try it out , that amp with a ts 808 and a tele is a match made in heaven................

No doubt, but I can think of anyone who goes to see VH just for the bass player. People go see VH for Dave and Eddie. +1 , it's all about eddie and roth , i for one have faith they will put out the first van halen album i will purchase since 5150...........................

thank god no!!!!!!!!! piano player handled that , was just compin and soloing , it was a much needed wake up call.............. -
old drummer calls me tuesday night and says he just copped a "funk fusion gig" for thursday , me ,him and my bass player in my country gig , cool i say , we settle on sissy strut ,memphis underground , chameleon, summertime and figure we'll funk up the rest , well he has a piano player show up to the gig , this place's opening night , mayor is there cutting the ribbon , they wanna hear straight ahead jazz!!!!!!!!!!!! the piano guy was an old jazz pro and had an extra real book with him , started with blue bossa which i have played before and is pretty harmonically easy , then we get into some heavier shite and i was at my very limits tryin to keep up , really really challenging to say the least , by the third set the peeps wanted to dance and we did funk it up a little as well as some latin santana type jams , there were time during the night that i was flustered but in the end they want us there 2-3 nights a week and i feel like i grew a little musically last night and will grow even more by doing this gig weekly , moral of the story??????????? sometimes ya just gotta say what the hey.............. edited to add the 93 studio was the axe of choice with a bit o daytona in the last set...............
-
