  1. my support! And remember - never give up, this is the best way to win against theese kind of diseases!
  2. Jaye - for sure you haven't earned respect points showing up here with this strat jokes aside - strat trem is notorious for an effort and number of tricks required to keep it in tune and yes, its not Floyd Rose so divebomb will bring it out of tune. I have read many (and use few) tricks to keep it in tune as possible, some of them are here (yes, I have strat too...): - get decent nut. Some cheapo nuts are the problems themselves - try different cut on the nut, for some (e.g. EVH) it was one of the ways to cope with it before he find his way to FRose. - lubricate the nut, I use some silicon lubricator used in some electronic machinery, but big bends nut sauce I guess does the thing too. - try to leave minimum necessary string wounds on tuners, some say it helps. - I also do extreme string kick in excercise - pulling them hard in different places, it helps too. and there are lots of tricks out there, which may work or not. Try yourself and decide what helped in your case. From theoretical standpoint the weakest links are string trees and nut, which doesn't allow strings to come back to initial tension, so focus there.
  3. during my short guitarist history I have been through combo time (worked great), but first half stack I've got was marshall JCM600 + JCM600 4x10 cab (for gigs outside the town I've used 2x10 loaded with some vitage sounding Jensens) and there I've became sound guy's pain in the neck - used to crank the volume so loud, that he told he don't need miking I still regret I've sold JCM600, but then I've used money raised for gettin JCM800 with 2x12 w/V30s and the story continues - if my balls ain't shaking from my amp, I don't like my sound, and sound guys in the clubs get bananas over this... I wonder what they would tell me if I had full stack of 4x12s?
  4. nothing AIC released after the first two albums rocked nearly as hard. The missing ingredient? Mike Starr. ...I always tought it was more due to heroin addiction?
  5. one more point on snake oils - they have more "heavy" feel... the tension is higher. I use .10s, but compared to .10s of Dean Markley or D'Addario, they feel like .11s to me. And I'm doing lots of full tone and higher bends... So beware - if you plan to try, order one gauge lighter than you use That remark is valid for electrics.
  6. I second Poe. Since I've started using Snake Oil strings, I've noticed that: 1. Tone is for sure better. It kinda sharpened midrange (well, at least for mahogany/humbucker guitars with Rock Formula). 2. The have very short kick-in time. I put a new set, couple of strong pull-ups and they are sitting tight. 3. They last forever - I am using current set on my Fernandes APG from October, and I don't remember if I ever changed them on my Burny LPC, so that makes around a year. I can feel that pinch harmonics are getting weaker after a month or two, but otherwise strings are fully playable. I have tried Snake oil after reading review in Guitar Player, and must say all what is written about them is true and confirmed in practice The only problem I have is supply lead time. Last ones I've ordered in mid-February been shipped to me only mid-March...
