  4. This year it's going to be either 1) Cuba 2) Dominican Republic 3) Mexico 4) cruise Haven't decided yet.
  5. No soldering is involved. Remove pups from one and place in the other. Too bad, I had a beautiful one that I bought years ago and I recently sold it to Luiss on this board. Lou, give me some details on the Daytona...weight, neck thickness, tone... Thanks! Nick
  6. Awesome guitar Lou. Throw on a tortoise pickguard and she'll kill! Nick
  7. Post some pix. I'd love to see a trans-blue one! Thanks, Nick
  8. There's nothing like a tobacco burst daytona. Nice acquisitions!
  9. I have a Special FM that I bought from Greg and it is equipped with BBQ in the bridge and a Genuine Texas in the neck position. I can not compare it with a stock Special FM but the tone in this guitar is amazing. I find the pickups hot but not in a distorted kind of way. They are very articulate and chimey. YMMV. I haven't A/Bed them yet with my other guitars. I would definitely recommend them. Nick
  10. I had two Mcnaughts...amazing guitars. But I sold them when I got into the Hubers...no comparison. Nik is just in a different league than everyone I have tried. Really? Explain the differences, likes/dislikes, etc.
  11. There has been so much written about Ed Roman on so many different guitar forums. Overwhelmingly, not very good experiences. There are so many other good dealers who are ready to help you out and go the distance for you that it's not even worth taking the chance on someone with so much bad press.
  12. go to the JET website and click on the dealers..Here what it says JET Guitars HOW DO I BUY A JET INSTRUMENT? Sales and dealer information is handled by our sales manager. This is the contact to use to find a dealer in your region, or if you want to order a custom instrument. JET Guitar Sales click on the link and you see that it's Ed's email address, basically meaning that ED is The sales manager (not just a dealer) for the entire Jet guitar Line, it's not out of the realm of possibilty that Ed has some money invested in JET guitar.he has done this with previous builders also I know what it says on the JET site but I have also spoken to Ted Kerr at Uptown Strings (very cool guy btw) and he buys his guitars directly from Jeffrey. He does not go through Ed Roman. Whether or not Ed Roman has any money invested in JET is very hard to tell unless Jeffrey has disclosed this info to you. One thing that's for sure, Ed Roman does not build JET guitars. Thankfully, Jeffrey is the only one who has anything to do with those guitars.
  13. Personally, I love the shape of the JET headstock. Absolutely adore it!
  14. There is a dealer in Ohio http://www.uptownstrings.com/ that sells them as well. I played one at that store about 2 years ago and they are truly spectacular. I played the original Earlewood model and not the newer Caldera. If I had $3K at the time, that guitar would have followed me home. The quality, craftmanship and materials are all top notch. If you get the chance, try one out. As for the connection with Ed Roman, JET mostly sells through him but there are other dealers and Roman has nothing to do with the actual guitar company.
  15. Lou, Do tell...
  16. check, check, testing
  17. What exactly is the cause of Hameritis? I'm a little surprised that Hamer has not yet nipped it in the bud.
