PSA: Seems Like An Answer To A Question Nobody Asked?

I sure know that I never asked that question, and definitely not about a Tele clone!  Aren't T-types supposed to be known for their simplicity and relative ease of use/play?  Saw this item for sale at DGS today, it has modular swappable pickups, multiple trim pots on the back access panel (kinda like a Duo-Tone, except more of 'em), and an active 18-volt volume/tone pickup system.  'Only' weighs 8.4 lbs. :

Anybody ever heard of Mercurio Guitars?  I did a little searching online, and it appears that they only lasted for a few years and have since gone away.  I wonder why?
