santellavision Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 SOLD! Fender Player Stratocaster - Roasted Maple Neck in Limited Olympic White/Torty guard – upgraded Porter Pickups & hard case Excellent/Near-mint condition, no scratches, dents or dings, just some light, normal pick marks on the guard. Super clean. Has upgraded Porter ‘Hybrid Plus’ pickups with metal Bridge PU baseplate. And, upgraded 920D ‘blender pot’ wiring harness. Adds neck & bridge, plus all 3 at once for nice additional sounds. Before you ask, sorry, I don’t have the original pickups. The Porters are way better! I also bought a new Tweed hard-shell case for it. It's a really nice playing guitar. Straight neck, low action, no buzzing. The Roasted Maple neck feels so nice. Once you had a Roasted neck, you’ll never go back. This is the hard-to-find, Limited ‘Olympic White’ finish only available directly from Fender (Which is where I purchased it) Not the ‘Olympic Pearl’ color some of these player series Strats can come in. I am the original owner. Only played in non-smoking home. Comes with tremolo arm, Mint Tweed hard case and all the original case candy. It's a great playing and sounding guitar. You won't be disappointed in any way! Message with any questions. $775. w/ Porter Pickups & Hardcase - Shipped & Paypal F&F. Not interested in any trades on this one - thx.
Pieman Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 this seems like a good deal $300 for the pickups plus’$ for the wiring harness and case plus shipping as your cost Surprised this is still for sale Curious as to why you chose the Porters as opposed to any other after market pickups GLWS
django49 Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 NICE! I have given some passing thoughts to getting a Strat and upgrading with the 920 DG setup......Hmmmm.....

The 'Hybrid Plus' are bigger/fatter, more like P90s, but still do a nice quack thing. I just can't bond with thin sounding guitars, that's why I went with the Porters to get more of a bigger Strat thing.
seeker Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Thank You! I was sooooo tempted since you posted. If I'd keyed on the price drop today, . . .
santellavision Posted July 27, 2024 Author Posted July 27, 2024 You should have messaged me with an offer. I'm always open to offers, especially to HFC peeps.
seeker Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 That's OK. I'm sure the new owner will be Uber happy with it. Will def keep in mind if you sell in future! Thanks.
Pieman Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 i checked out a number of youtube demos - some twice - of the Porter Hybrids. The videos were a bit uneven. Even Andy from the old Pro Guitar Workshop couldn’t convince me. Over wound P90ish thing. I like p90s but i don’t connect them to Strats. As much as i wanted to like them, I couldn’t get to yes. If the buyer is an HFCer, maybe he can chime in. If he likes them, he got a good deal.
