crunchee Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 (edited) They (or at least some of them) seem to be USA-made, and ought to be for that price. Anybody here notice these lately? Dean Guitars goes back in time with the Patents Pending series If it was me and I could go back to 1977 with Five Grand in my pocket, I'd go shopping for a used late '50's Gibson LP. Here's the latest Dean ML lineup...interesting thing is that the 'Floyd' Patents Pending ML model listing doesn't seem to have a Floyd: ML | Dean Guitars Also, Musician's Fiend sells the Cherry Sunburst Patents Pending ML for $4499 instead of the 'list' $4999, if you're willing to drop that much cash for a new one: Dean USA Patents Pending ML Flame Top Electric Guitar Trans Cherry Sunburst | Musician's Friend (musiciansfriend.com) Edited September 26, 2024 by crunchee 1 Quote
The Shark Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 I can honestly say that I've never owned a Dean. Honestly, I've no idea why. Just never had a good one offered up to me. I told Elliot, when I toured the Kapok Tree the last time and he laughed out loud. He'd sold me dozens and dozens of guitars. The first was a Martin D-18 in his first shop. I was 16. 4 Quote
diablo175 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Curious why Dean offers only 22 frets with the Floyded MLs. They offer 24 with Kahlers. 🤔 I had a Dean Dime Slimebee Razorback back in the day as well as a Matt Heafy sig model ML- for all of a month or so. The Razorback actually was a pretty decent ax though I eventually let it go due to my preference for 25.5" scale & 24 frets. The Heafy Sig looked cool AF but was a dud all around. Played like a cinder block and sounded worse. 2 Quote
