mrjamiam Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 Jeff name drops Jol and Rick inquires as to the proper pronunciation of Hamer.
RobB Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 Anyone else find it funny that this influencer douche doesn’t know how to pronounce, “Hay-mer?”

Or...he simply didn't know the pronunciation.

I guess if he has mistreated you in some way, I can understand you calling him an "influencer douche". He happens to be a personal friend, and has always been nothing but a really decent gentleman, willing to share his immense musical knowledge with anyone that is interested in listening. He has a great resume in music, and I feel bad if you have had a different personal experience with him. And BTW, he knows how to pronounce Hamer, we have discussed my guitars multiple times. He may have just stumbled. I wish I knew 1/4 about music that he does. Have a good day, Kerry
Biz Prof Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 Rick is one of a scant few online guitar dudes I find interesting and worth watching. YMMV.

velorush Posted May 15, 2025 Posted May 15, 2025 I have enjoyed his videos for many years (yes, I'm subscribed to both channels). His theory videos and "Top 10" videos are great, but I find his long-form interviews to be Library-of-Congress-Archive worthy. The interviews with Bernard Purdy, Rick Rubin, and especially Ron Carter were incredible. ETA: forgot to mention the Alan Parsons interview. Amazing. His knowledge of the artists' back catalogs is typically greater than the artists themselves.
hamerican gigolo Posted May 19, 2025 Posted May 19, 2025 Love RB's videos. His interviews with Christopher Cross & Jeff Baxter, etc. I find very interesting.
