jwhitcomb3 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 1996 Hamer Artchop GT, with Gibson reissue Mini-humbuckers. More pictures here This was my first Hamer. I still love this guitar but I have to reduce the collection. This has a medium thick neck with very low action all the way up the neck. This guitar plays wonderfully! The bridge saddles were replaced with GraphTek saddles (I’m not sure I believe the hype about improved tone but I’ve never broken a string on this) and the stock Seymour Duncan hot P-90s were professionally replaced with brand new Gibson reissue mini-humbuckers. This gives you the fullness and grunt of a humbucker with the snarl and bite of a single coil pickup. The original pickups were fine, but the minibuckers make this guitar much more versatile. I’m including the original pickups in this auction if you ever decide you want to try them. Comes in the original hard shell case. Issues: there are some small dings on the back of this guitar, a couple more near the end-pin, a small scratch on the top of the headstock, and a slight amount of Hameritis at the neck joint. I did my best to capture these in the pictures. All this sounds much worse than it looks: I’m just trying to be thorough so there are no surprises when you get the guitar. You have to look for the flaws: this is in terrific condition for a 10 year old guitar. I'm asking $975 shipped in the continental USA. Paypal, checks and money orders are fine. Thanks! -Jonathan

Very worthwhile change-out.Somebody buy this. i was gonna do the same with my Special P90 but was still GASSING for another LP DC style...but too leery of Gibby's quality and consistency...so was watching for a nice Hamer for a price i could handle...this kills 2 birds with one stone...
jwhitcomb3 Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 i'll be playing it in about 27 hours... I'm just hoping I didn't switch the labels with the slightly used lifesize love doll I shipped out at the same time... -Jonathan
cmatthes Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Somewhat off track, but any recommendations for a good Gibson-style Mini-hum? I would be looking for a straight LP Deluxe pickup, but the older Gibson pickups that used to be so plentiful and cheap a few short years ago have gone scarce and pricey.

BadJaxx Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 by the way....is this basically the same guitar as the Studio P90 on the Hamer website or are their differences besides the inlays?
